LAVENDER:
I had always
read about how (therapeutic quality) essential oil of
Lavender will heal a burn, but until last year I had
fortunately not had the chance to experience it first hand.
I got an extreme scald on my inner forearm, which was very
painful, with the skin turning dusky red and shiny - about
a 4 x 6 inch area. Did I say it was very painful! I applied
Lavender oil directly to the burn, and all the pain went
away immediately!! It was very impressive. About a minute
later, all the pain came back, and I re-applied a few drops
directly on the burn. Again, all the pain went away
immediately. A couple minutes later, it returned, and I
kept up this process a few more times, until about 10
minutes after the burn, and four or five applications of
oil later....absolutely no pain, no mark on my arm, and all
sensitivity was relieved. What a blessing, and something
that every household should have on hand!
PLEASE NOTE:
You can only expect
therapeutic results like this from high quality oils. Young
Living Essential Oils are tested and guaranteed to be of
this quality. Be aware that most companies offer oils that
have been adulterated with very harsh chemical additives,
and would not be suitable for this type of use. I would
never put a 'lavender' essential oil on a burn unless it
was Young Living. Lavender is one of the most adulaterated
oils in the marketplace. Why not use the best and be
guaranteed of quality? Most companies selling essential
oils do not take the expense of testing their oils for
purity, nor do they have the relationship with the
distillers to know what happens in between the distiller
and when it arrives in their shop, so they do not know what
is in their oils or the quality of the properties in their
oils. They may present their oils as pure, when in fact
they may have been highly adulterated before they even
received them. Young Living guarantees the highest quality
and purity.
Notes
taken about:
LAVENDER
Research
at the university of Vienna shows that
Lavender oil
inhalation blunts the stress levels.
Lavender contains
flavanoids (which are responsible for the body utilizing
Vit. C). Vitamin C is a natural cortisol blocker. (Cortisol
is the stress hormone). 15 minutes of lavender inhalation
reduced seizures in animals subjected to stress. (they put
lavender on a cotton ball and had the animals inhale the
smell).
Any shock increases cortisol – trauma, emotional
shock, etc. Lavender increases relaxation, reduces travel
sickness, reduces arteriosclerosis, is a local anesthetic,
reduces muscle convulsions. (Cortisol is sometimes called
the aging hormone or death hormone, and inhibits the human
growth hormone [Hgh]). As we get older, Hgh decreases and
cortisol increases, giving rise to many negative effects.
Stress increases cortisol, which then depresses the immune
system and creates a cycle of increasing sense of dis-ease
and unwellness. Inhalation of Lavender oil several times a
day has lowered the stress hormones increase by up to 100%.
